Summer is here, and so is the 15th Annual Summer Reading Contest hosted by The Times! Students are invited to participate by sharing what they are currently reading and why, either through a written response or a 90-second video. This year, to mark the 15th anniversary of the contest, a new twist has been added – students can choose to enter by submitting a video instead of a written response.

If you’re a teacher and want your students to start practicing early, the only requirement is that the piece must have been published in 2024. Whether it’s about cats, chatbots, college costs, or global crises, students are encouraged to express their thoughts on any topic they choose. To assist with practice, a special forum has been created for participants to join and engage in discussions.

If you have any questions about the contest or need more information, everything you need to know is provided below. Your patience is appreciated as we confirm access for readers. If you are currently in Reader mode, please log into your Times account or consider subscribing to access the full content of The Times.

Don’t miss out on this exciting opportunity to showcase your reading interests and insights. Whether you prefer writing or video, the Summer Reading Contest is a great way to share your thoughts and potentially win some fantastic prizes. Get ready to dive into the world of literature and creativity this summer with The Times!
