T-Mobile’s Project 10Million program has been making strides in providing reliable and affordable internet service to over 6 million young learners in the U.S. since 2020. However, the demand for connectivity continues to grow as technology becomes more integrated into education. With a 226% surge in technology use over the past five years, students are relying on the internet for classroom assignments, research, video streaming, and more.

To address this growing need, T-Mobile has enhanced its Project 10Million program by increasing the data allowance for students. Starting September 26, qualifying families will now receive 200GB per year for five years, double the previous allotment. Additionally, families can purchase a discounted 10GB data pass for $10 if they exceed their limit. School districts served by Project 10Million will also have the opportunity to receive up to 200GB of data starting in October 2024.

In an effort to reach more students and bridge the digital divide, T-Mobile has partnered with Boys & Girls Clubs of America. The collaboration includes enrollment campaigns and sign-up events across the country, with recent events featuring artist and activist Common. These initiatives aim to ensure that families with school-aged children have access to essential connectivity for academic success.

The CEO of T-Mobile, Mike Sievert, emphasized the importance of Project 10Million in providing critical internet access to students. The program has already connected over 6 million students and continues to evolve to make a bigger impact. The President and CEO of Boys & Girls Clubs of America, Jim Clark, highlighted the commitment to supporting youth in achieving academic success through collaboration with T-Mobile.

Additional back-to-school activations for Project 10Million have taken place or are scheduled in various cities, including Baton Rouge, Tacoma, Kansas City, and Oklahoma City. Since its launch in 2020, Project 10Million has provided $6.9 billion in products and services, benefiting over 6 million students.

Families eligible for the National School Lunch Program can sign up for Project 10Million directly with T-Mobile to access data enhancements. Schools working with T-Mobile to provide the program to students may also participate in these enhancements. It’s important to note that during times of congestion, Project 10Million customers may experience slower speeds due to data prioritization, and video typically streams in SD quality.

T-Mobile’s commitment to closing the digital divide and empowering students through connectivity is evident in the expansion of Project 10Million. By partnering with organizations like Boys & Girls Clubs of America, the initiative aims to reach even more students and ensure they have the resources needed to succeed academically.
