Recognizing Top Health Science Students in HOSA and iCEV: Future Health Leaders

Lubbock, TX – HOSA – Future Health Professionals (HOSA) and iCEV, a leader in Career & Technical Education (CTE) solutions, recently awarded scholarships to three exceptional health science students. Sanjay Kesavan and Siddharth Ghosh Roy, both hailing from New Jersey, were recipients of scholarships after emerging victorious in this year’s iCEV-sponsored Pathophysiology Contest at the HOSA International Leadership Conference held earlier this summer in Houston, TX. Additionally, Charlie Fontana of Colorado was recognized with an iCEV-sponsored scholarship during the conference for her outstanding academic achievements.

Dusty Moore, CEO of iCEV, emphasized the importance of supporting CTE students aiming to pursue careers in the healthcare industry, especially given the projected shortfall of healthcare workers in the coming years. Moore stated, “We are dedicated to collaborating with HOSA to promote career opportunities in the healthcare field and are thrilled to continue recognizing and celebrating exceptional students.”

The Pathophysiology Contest is a competitive event designed to inspire HOSA members to delve into the anatomy and physiology of human diseases that impact the health community. Kesavan and Ghosh Roy, winners in the secondary and post-secondary divisions respectively, each received scholarships from iCEV, while all participants who placed in the contest were awarded plaques.

Fontana’s scholarship was part of the HOSA Scholarship Program. She serves as the vice president of public relations for her HOSA chapter, volunteers as a teacher aide for multiple Spanish teachers, gives tours of her school to new and prospective students, tutors her peers, and aims to pursue a major in biochemistry in college.

In its ongoing partnership with HOSA, iCEV will sponsor additional scholarships for standout students on an annual basis. Furthermore, iCEV is collaborating with various other leading Career and Technical Student Organizations (CTSOs) to offer student scholarships. These initiatives come as iCEV celebrates its 40th year of service to the CTE community.

Moore highlighted the significance of supporting exceptional CTE students and giving back to the CTE community through scholarships. He expressed, “Our goal is to increase the number of scholarships we award each year and honor deserving CTE students through our partnerships with CTSOs.”
