Introducing the K-12 Mental Health Tech Navigator

In a groundbreaking collaboration, Headstream, The Jed Foundation (JED), and The Meadows Mental Health Policy Institute have unveiled the K-12 Mental Health Tech Navigator. This free tool is designed to revolutionize the way school districts nationwide approach student mental health and well-being.

A Roadmap for Change

The Navigator is the result of extensive work by a diverse group of 12 educational leaders who came together to create a Roadmap with 10 key recommendations. These recommendations are aimed at empowering K-12 administrators and educators to make informed decisions about selecting and implementing digital resources to support student mental health.

Empowering Educators with Key Features

The Navigator offers a range of features to guide schools and districts through the process of identifying challenges, learning from success stories, securing funding, and selecting the right products to support student well-being. With nearly 70 percent of public schools reporting an increase in students seeking mental health services since 2020, this tool comes at a crucial time.

Expert Insight and Support

Leaders in the field, such as David Ball from Headstream, emphasize the importance of technology-based interventions in addressing student mental health needs at scale. Dr. Tony Walker from JED and Michelle Harper from The Meadows Mental Health Policy Institute highlight the critical role the Navigator plays in providing innovative solutions to support student well-being nationwide.

As educators, parents, and community members, we all play a role in supporting the mental health of our students. By leveraging tools like the K-12 Mental Health Tech Navigator, we can ensure that our schools are equipped to address the evolving needs of our youth. Let’s work together to prioritize student well-being and create a brighter future for all.
